My (Abbas’) holding company to invest in and build companies around a few core ideas.

Stage: I am an early investors, working with founders to either originate an idea or help established teams take on a bigger market.

Focus: Business models that standardise white-collar services or develop cash-flowing assets.

Investment Thesis

  1. Automation: Services ordinarily delivered by large teams of white-collar workers will be replaced by much smaller that rely on automation (and outsourcing).
  2. Outsourcing: Remote work, along with the technologies that enable it, level the geographic playing field. Teams that can tie in global talent will be more cost-effective and competitive.
  3. Capital intensity: Long dominated by incumbents, capital-intensive sectors are an under-appreciated opportunity. Leveraging modern practices, automation and outsourcing, modern teams can unseat them.

The adage that - the future is already here, just not evenly distributed - summarises how I think about these themes. All of them are already readily observable, they will now be distributed and applied.

*O Brave New World

I am unconvinced by the pessimists that constantly foretell global doom, reliably finding new advances - technological or otherwise - to fear.

Instead, I am hopeful for our brave new world.

If you are too, join me.

How many goodly creatures are there here!

How beauteous mankind is! O brave new world,

That has such people in 't!”
